The Move

So I finally decided to blog about the big move, even though it has been over six months. It was a long drive. The first stop was at Lex & Jessi's house. We had so much fun just hanging out and talking with them. And getting to spend some time just relaxing. We got to go see the temple there it is bigger than I remembered. My parents met up with us in Alberqurque the next day. We drove for a few more hours to the border of New Mexico. Where my fam went and found their hotel we searched
and searched for our KOA campsite. We were following the handy dandy GPS but it was really confusing--I can't remember if it took us on this dirt road or if Luke decided to(I am pretty sure it was Luke) So we were going along this road and on both sides it dropped off really steep and it was just wide enough for our truck & trailer to drive on. We didn't know were this road was leading us to or if we would even be able to turn around with the trailer on behind us. Luckily we found a way out and I convinced Luke to follow the GPS and we finally found our campsite. It was well past dark and almost morning when we finally crawled into the tent and fell asleep.

The next leg of our journey was probably the worst. We were out of their by seven. It was a really long and boring drive. I don't know what people like to live in Texas--the part we drove through was ugly and HOT. We were going along and our truck started to overheat. We would turn the AC off and the temp would fall. But as soon as you turned the AC back on it would heat up. We were dying it was at least 105 degrees outside, no AC, just the cool wind from outside. It was miserable. Luke and I talked about just driving straight to TN that night just so we wouldn't have to drive the next day in the heat. We made a pit stop for the dogs. They were so hot they wouldn't even eat or drink. It was bad. That night we had planned on staying in Little Rock, AR at another KOA in our cute little tent. When we arrived around 10 pm we canceled that plan since it was still 90 degrees with 90% humidity. We sneaked the dogs into the hotel my parents were staying at. The next morning we were on the road by 5 am. We didn't want to have another day without AC. We wanted to be at the house by early afternoon before it got too hot. We didn't have any problems the rest of the trip with the AC. We were very grateful for that. I even convinced Luke to stop to go shopping for a few hours.
We got to the house and quickly unloaded everything because it was so hot and muggy outside. And the next day or two we spent unloading boxes and boxes and boxes with the help of my family .

Big Dogs

If you are ever thinking about getting a big dog there are some definite advantages to having them around. Like keeping people out of the backyard, eating all the neighborhood cats, and digging up all the gophers in your backyard. But these all have to be out weighed with the negatives. Such as chewing up Luke's shoes, chewing up the garden hose, killing all the plants in the backyard. So next time you see an adorable little puppy just remember that they will eventually grow up to chew up everything you leave laying around.

Spider Webs

So the other day I was out walking Cholo and saw these crazy spider webs. It kind of freaked me out wondering how big the spider was that spun this web. I guess there was so much water in the air that morning that it could stick to the webs. When I got home I found some lovely webs in the bushes in front of our house. I quickly got Luke out there spraying them down with pesticide

That day we saw tons of spider webs all over the place. It was really neat.
